Trip to Isla Tabarca

  • Discover the only inhabited island in Valencia
  • One day trip
  • Meeting point: Mestalla, Valencia

Isla Tabarca, also known as Tabarca Island, is a small rocky island located in the Mediterranean Sea, off the southeastern coast of Spain.

The island has a rich history. It was originally known as Planesia and was inhabited by the Romans. Later, it became a refuge for Barbary pirates. In 1768, King Charles III of Spain ordered the island to be fortified and settled by Genoese families from the island of Tabarka, off the coast of Tunisia. Since then, it has been known as Tabarca.

Isla Tabarca is known for its crystal-clear waters and diverse marine life, making it a popular destination for snorkeling and diving. The island is part of a protected marine reserve, the Tabarca Marine Reserve (Reserva Marina de Tabarca).

We will go by bus to Santa Pola where we will take the catamaran to the island. We will spend the whole day on this beautiful island.
