Visit to the Aragonese Pyrenees

The Aragonese Pyrenees is a dream destination for nature lovers and outdoor activities. With its breathtaking natural beauty, National Parks, unique landscapes and charming villages, it offers a wide variety of landscapes.
On this trip, you will have the opportunity to enjoy various adventure activities. You can go hiking in the Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park, explore ravines and waterfalls, climb peaks and venture on exciting via ferratas. In addition, you will have the option of optional activities, such as rafting on the Esra River, zip-lining in the Tena Valley, walking along impressive footbridges and enjoying panoramic views from strategic viewpoints.
Most of the Pyrenees is a World Heritage Site for the region’s rich history, culture, Romanesque churches and medieval villages.

Itinerary

Day 1Valencia-Pyrenees

We will leave very early in the morning to the Pyrenees. We go straight to the French Pyrenees to enjoy the high mountain train (highest in Europe) that will end in the lakes. Very very nice. Then we will go to the hotel to rest a few hours and then if you want you can go down to the village of Sallent de Gallego. In the evening we will have dinner and a drink together…

Day 2National Park- Hike

This day we go to the National Park of Ordesa and Monte Perdido and you have 2 options: Option 1 would be for the more adventurous: Horse tail route “Senda de cazzadores” (Medium high level) (With a guide) Option 2. would be for those who want to take the day with more relax. Visit the park there are several routes and then travel to the village of Torla ordesa.
 
 

Day 3Optional Activities

It would be the day of optional activities or visit villages. In the morning you have 4 options: 1. Via ferrata of Sorrosal, 1. Canyoning (Canyoing) and rafting in Ainsa or 4. Visit Ainsa and Boltañana. In the afternoon you have 3 options: 1. Tyrolean crossing in Tena Valley 2.
 

Day 4Parque-Valencia

We go to the Parque Natural de los Valles Occidentales (Astun) to do the Ruta de los Lagos de Ayous, we will go up by chairlift from Astun. In between we will stop at the old station of Canfranc. After the activity, return to Valencia.

Ainsa

Ainsa, one of the most charming and picturesque villages in the Pyrenees, will transport you to a fairy tale. Located on a prominent promontory, this place captivates with its cobbled streets, old houses and an imposing stone castle dating back to the 11th century. The castle of Ainsa, with its great historical importance since the Middle Ages, has witnessed the signing of political pacts, has suffered various dominations and has become a symbol of the region. Pasarelas de Panticosa y pueblo:

Sallent de gallego y Lanuza

On the one hand, we find the charming village known as the Spanish ski mecca, where its 16th century Gothic church and medieval bridge stand out. On the other hand, we have Lanuza, famous for its impressive reservoir and for hosting the renowned Pirineo Sur festival. This village, which was completely uninhabited in the 70s, has become the epicenter of the largest festival in the Pyrenees during the month of July. Discover the magic of these two villages and immerse yourself in their historical and natural charm.

Antigua estación de canfranc

You cannot miss the opportunity to visit the emblematic Antigua Estación Internacional de Canfranc, a unique monument that has been nominated as an Asset of Cultural Interest. Inaugurated on July 28, 1928, this railway station is a true historical treasure. Tren de Artouste (Alta montaña, El tren más alto de Europa) (Activdad opcional)

Optional Activities In the morning (Rafting Ainsa / Via ferrata / Canyoning Sorrosal. )
Imagine yourself rafting on the Esra River in the Pyrenees, the river that flows down from Monte Perdido and passes through the Pineta Valley. An unforgettable experience, an activity that will last almost 4 hours.
Day 2 we will visit Ordesa and monte perdida, and if you don’t want to do the pony tail route you can take the bus down to Ainsa and go rafting (optional, and costs 40 €).
The ravine of Sorrosal, a gorge with two waterfalls of more than 50 meters high with lots of high jumps, slides, rappels, full of adventure and fun.
(Optional, and costs 50 €)
Via Ferrata del Sorrosal, one of the most beautiful in the whole peninsula. Nestled in the ravine of the Garganta del Sorrosal, with the Sorrosal waterfall and two spectacular waterfalls of more than 50 meters high.
If you do not want any optional activity, you have the 4th option: Visit Ainsa and Bolataña.

Optional Afternoon Activities (Zip Line in Tena Valley or Panticosa Walkways)

  • Zip Line in Tena Valley:
    Experience speeds of up to 120 km/h while gliding down the Tena Valley with spectacular views. Feel the adrenaline and live an unforgettable adventure! Optional activity (20 €).

  • Panticosa Walkways:
    Cross 160 meters above water on walkways offering the best views of Panticosa and its surrounding mountains, including the O Calvé viewpoint. A sensation of walking in the air—like flying, I’d say! Enjoy this optional activity on the afternoon of Day 3 for just 5 €.
